CHRISTMAS COMES TWICE THIS YEAR
Experience a Christmas like no other. Take a journey before 25 December that you’ll remember long after. It begins in Paris, beautifully lit up during the winter festive season. Make yourselves comfortable in the warmth of your luxurious river cruise ship. And bring at least one empty suitcase. It will soon be filled with an amazing array of gifts and indulgences found only in the world-famous Christmas markets of Germany, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Far away from shopping malls and car parks, browse for handcrafted gifts and sample delicious gourmet food. And again believe in the magic of Christmas.
Where there are jingle bells there must be sleigh rides. And the two of you will be singing Christmas carols as you climb aboard. In Amsterdam, share some quite moments of artistic genius at the Van Gogh Museum. Later, raise your glasses of Gluhwein to toast the day’s purchases and discoveries.
Take a spin you’ll remember next time you drop the kids at school: Vienna by horse-drawn carriage. Share a different appreciation of Christmas by following the route of church nativity scenes. And find a present from Christmases past, created by craftspeople at Regensburg’s ‘Royal’ Christmas markets.
To do some serious Christmas shopping, head to the world’s largest Christmas market in Nuremberg with more than 150 booths. In Prague, toast your white Christmas with some dark beers. In Bamberg, follow a trail of nativity scenes linking churches, museums with ancient Christmas scenes.
